Margot List’s debut EP “Doing Something Right” speaks to the universal human experience of struggle, growth and self-discovery, delivering the empowering message that no matter where you are on your path through life, you are already doing something right. Each song explores different ways we can be grateful for uncomfortable emotions as they present us with new opportunities to heal and the chance to redefine the future in a positive direction. Margot wrote Feel Alive after going through depression and finding a new lease on life. Moved On is the story of letting go of relationships that no longer serve you to make way for more meaningful connections. My Love is about learning to love yourself fully while remaining open to finding your soulmate. Friend Zone navigates the emotional rollercoaster of finding out a long term friend has feelings for you.
Many of us are prone to doubting ourselves and our abilities in life. Perhaps you have also thought to yourself “I am too old to start something new”, “I am not good enough” or “I haven’t done enough to deserve it”. We often focus on the end goal and on the things we don’t yet have in life. We berate ourselves for it and feel dissatisfied. What if we change the narrative to focus on what we do have and become happy achievers? Recognising the small milestones and steps we take every day. Thank ourselves for all that we do and trust that we will find our way through challenging situations. Start believing we are doing something right and embracing our imperfections. Margot’s song, Doing Something Right, has become her new mantra as she continues to follow her life dreams. Rather than measuring success by fame and money, she now opts for celebrating the success of keeping her passions and the joy alive. For starting and continuing the journey no matter what “I don’t need to see my name in lights to know I’m doing something right!’
